Every so often you create a piece which stands out so far from the rest of your pieces and I am proud to share this with you. This necklace took me months of working on and off of the lampwork disc beads and to finish it was a wonderful experience to have what was in my head as an idea to be then in my hands exactly how I imagined it. NB. The red in this piece is a deep cherry red, the photos make it look slightly brighter than what it is, if you require more please let me know.
The lampwork beads have created in my home studio with Italian glass and then annealed to ensure that they are strengthened for many years of wear. Then they have been strung sterling silver wire with sterling silver beads, findings and black faceted onyx. There is a considerable amount of weight in this necklace due to the amount of glass so it has been designed to distribute the weight evenly on the fixings.
The largest lampwork beads measure 22mm in height and 10mm in diameter, the overall length of the necklace is 46cm (or 17 1/4 inches).
Care instructions: Whilst each piece goes through an annealing process to strengthen the glass, do take care not to drop them. The piece is best cleaned with warm soapy water and a polishing cloth however commercial silver dips can be used.
NB. Glass is notoriously difficult to photograph, most pieces appear more vibrant and full of life to what the camera can capture, whilst every effort is made to take a true photograph there may be minor differences.
